Nurse Honor Guard

of Southeast Michigan

The Nurse Honor Guard pays tribute to nurses at the time of their death by performing the Nightingale Tribute at the funeral or memorial service. We also offer live tributes for those nurses on hospice services. This service is similar to a military tribute and officially releases the nurse from their nursing duties.

Our Mission

For our group of volunteer nurses to be able to honor a fellow nurse in the Southeast Michigan area at their funeral, memorial, or live tribute for their devotion, sacrifice and dedication to the nursing profession and to release them from their nursing duties.

What is the Nurse Honor Guard?

We recognize men and women who have dedicated their professional lives to nursing and to pay respect to fellow nurses (retired and/or active R.N.s, L.P. N.s, and Nurse Practitioners) for the devotion and commitment they demonstrated in caring for others.

We recognize these honorees for the one thing that binds us together: we are all nurses. All who answered a calling and all who leave behind an individualized legacy to the profession. For that, we are all eternally thankful. Rest easy, dear brothers and sisters.
